I love the British Colonial Hotel in Nassau, Bahamas. The Bullion Bar inside is plush and written into many of the scenes in my spy series "Corey Pearson- CIA Spymaster in the Caribbean." It is nicknamed the old "BC" by the locals and it brings back many memories for me.
During Spring Break in my college days, in the 60's, I flew to Nassau with several fraternity brothers. We visited the BC often during our five-day break. It was, believe it or not, covered with a straw roof! Since then, My wife, daughter and I stayed at the BC several times, enjoying the lush tropical nine acres behind it with a private beach.
I made the video below while writing an episode of my spy series, where Corey Pearson meets his contact, Darnell Ferguson, in the back "Patio Bar and Grill" open-air bar in the lush garden behind the British Colonial (Nine acres of garden!).

Here's another video of one of the Caribbean's Best-Kept Secrets: The British Colonial is only a five-minute walk to Junkanoo Beach, home to the Tiki Bikini Hut Beach Bar. This, in my humble opinion, is one of the best beach bars in the Caribbean. They pile fresh coconuts in a rowboat at the Tiki Hut and when you order any drink with coconut, they retrieve one and machete it in front of you, then pour the coconut juice and meat into a blender. Enjoy!
